Called and Chosen

Play/Pause Stop
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. —Jeremiah 1:5, KJV

Did you ever feel that you’re not good enough? Have you failed to measure up to the worldly standards to fit into a world laced with pitfalls? Is the pressure too great to bear? Sadly, some of us feel that way. But God cares.

He molded you into His image. He knows you.

God sculpted you to reflect Him. He chose you and loves you. He calls you into His righteousness, His truth, and His light to partake in His promises. Imagine having a Creator and Father who knows you and called and selected you before you were even a thought. A God whose love is boundless and unreserved.

He calls us “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people” (1 Peter 2:9, KJV). You are royalty and an heir.

The devil, our enemy, tells us a different story.

He constantly reminds us of the mistakes we’ve made.

He will make you feel despicable and deserted by God because that’s what the devil whispers. The agonizing thoughts cripple us.

The voices start to shout, “You’re unworthy and unforgiven!” Thoughts of unhappiness and gloom envelop our hearts, leaving us numb, dumb, and forsaken.

But Jesus, our Savior, wants us to know that even our vilest sin, whatever it is, He will forgive. There’s no sin in this world too great or small for Him to forgive. There’s no heart that is riddled with hate that He cannot supplant with love.

He is the Potter, and you’re the clay.

When clay is dry, it cracks. Once it’s entrenched with love, water, and care, it lives again. It experiences invigoration and is ready to fulfill its tasks.

This can happen only when the clay master ministers to its needs. He will put his being into restoring its image, and he knows how to mold it into its new state, just like our heavenly Father. He can fix any cracks, broken spirits, and dreams.

When your heart needs repaired, just call upon the One and only Source who will reinstate you into His image. The One who covers your sin.

The One who calls you heir. Your sins are justified by having faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore, permit the Holy Spirit to purge anything that is in your path of reclaiming your rights as an heir to God’s throne. Remember, He called you first.

He chose you first. So go to Him in His secret tabernacle. He’s waiting.
