As Christians, we frequently forget that God honors the desires of our hearts and, according to His will, makes them come to fruition.
A few years ago, I wanted to go on a mission trip and invited my daughter to go with me. She agreed but had two obstacles: her job and the necessary funds.
She was living in another state, but her training as a nurse would benefit the team greatly. However, her place of employment didn’t approve leaves for more than fifteen days at one time, and she needed three weeks.
Nevertheless, she submitted her request and waited for a response.
For her to make the trip, two things needed to happen: (1) raise the money for the trip and (2) have her request approved despite the length of time.
God took care of both.
She didn’t like the idea of soliciting funds, so we prayed about it.
With the help of friends and my husband, I raised my funds, but for my daughter, it was a different story. She filed her income tax return papers, and the unbelievable occurred. Her return was double more than what she needed to cover the trip. Her request to be away from her employment was approved without question.
God removed the obstacles and cleared the way for her to go.
Then something unexpected happened: the director of nursing (DON) asked her when she would return from her trip, and she told her the date.
Surprisingly the DON said, “But, this is three weeks of absence from work; it’s not possible.” My daughter replied that she had signed the request and proceeded to show her the signature. The DON responded, “This is my signature, but I would not have approved that. I don’t know how it happened.” Well, we know what happened.
The angel of the Lord held the DON’s fingers and made her sign the request without questioning the length of the trip.
God is so awesome! He can perform amazing things beyond our comprehension if we come to Him and ask, even the desires of our hearts.
He has an ultimate plan for our lives, and He delights in making us happy. Indeed, we serve an awesome God!
