Finding God’s Favor

Struggling within myself because of a difficult situation, I cried out to God and asked, “Where are You when I need you most, Lord?” Have you ever found yourself in the midnight hour, and it seems like God is on vacation? Well, I was having a pity party about feeling forsaken at a time when I most needed God, and that’s when the Holy Spirit spoke ever so sweetly to my heart, bringing comfort and strength.

As Christians, we sometimes think God has a magic wand, and all He needs to do is wave it around and make the bad situations go away.

I believe sometimes God does that, but at other times, we gain our biggest blessings by going through the process. That is when we learn that God is Sovereign, and He does all things well and in His time. The definition of the word favor is best described as “demonstrated delight.” To have the Lord’s favor means that the Lord has shown gracious kindness toward His child. If God chooses to show favor, it does not make us exempt from the woes of the world. That is not what His favor does. The greatest act of God’s favor is that of eternal life.

[It is] by grace we have been saved.

And, it is only by His grace we are able to live for the Lord in this dark world. . . . When we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead [we] will be saved (Romans 10:9).

God is quick to forgive and show favor in gifting us with eternal life! God shows favor by blessing His people and being a shield that surrounds and protects them.

Our heavenly Father delights in showing favor toward us, His children. He showers us with grace and guides us from day to day. May God show favor to you today! And sisters, when God grants us His favor, nothing can stop the blessings He has in store for us.

Stay strong, stay focused, live by faith and not by sight, and enjoy the blessings of His favor!
