Come to Me

“Come to me.” —Matthew 11:28, ESV

Taken from my prayer journal, in Calhoun, Georgia, United States—9:30 A.M. Precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I come to you accepting your invitation to “Come to me” (Matt. 11:28, ESV). I choose You this morning as I meditate on You and allow Your Spirit to fill my soul, and my day, with Your presence. You know some of the things I need to do.

Shop for potatoes, make potato salad, walk, clean floors, prepare choplets—but I want to place all that aside and put You first. I hunger for You, Lord.

I long and desire to hear Your voice and see Your work in my life.

Use me today to bring peace and comfort, blessing, and joy to someone because I have chosen you first and foremost in my day. Make me an instrument of Thy peace.

Where there is hatred, help me to sow love.

Where there is envy, pardon.

Where there is hate, love.

Breathe into me Your breath of life. Instill within me Your precious love, undying patience, and compassionate care—because of who You are, not what I am.

“Come to me.” God, You are urging me to come to You and allow You to resolve all my stuff. “Come to me.” You, the King of the universe, are inviting me to spend time with You as You re-create me into what You want. “Come to me.” You indicate that when we walk hand in hand together during this day, You will supply all my needs—and then some.

I rest in the power of my Lord, Jesus Christ.

I realize that You are invincible and unconquerable, and Your untiring patience with me is overwhelming! I accept You—all of You! In the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Amen and Amen.
