God Honors Prayer

Play/Pause Stop
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. —Matthew 21:22, KJV

My brother calls on the Lord in many situations.

He recently prayed for a friend who was facing serious health issues and was under the care of several doctors. She shared her problems with my brother, and he asked if she would mind if he prayed for her. She accepted.

Soon after, she called to tell him she appreciated his prayers, and she felt much better. At her next medical visit, her doctors could neither believe nor understand what had happened.

All her health problems had disappeared.

They consulted with each other, comparing previous tests with the latest ones. They just could not sort it out. Finally, they blurted out, “What did you do?” She replied, “I prayed!” Prayer had cured all her health problems. I believe when, by faith, we present our situation to the Lord, He answers according to His will, no matter who is asking.

This summer, I presented to the Lord a silent request that required an immediate answer. The city decided to cut the trees leaning on the power lines.

I had two enormous trees that needed to be cut down.

I asked God to make sure the work would be finished before sunset on Friday. This was a city ordinance—I could neither stop the work nor hurry it up.

On Wednesday, there still was a lot to be done.

Thursday came, and without my asking, they doubled the crew.

By Friday afternoon, everything was completed before sunset.

Without God’s intervention, they would surely have been working on Saturday. Neither my brother nor I expected such rapid responses, but God intervened in both situations. In His way, He helped the workers finish before Sabbath.

And for my brother, “I will honor his faith on behalf of his friend.” God is so awesome! He can make things happen rapidly when we pray and ask for His help in faith.

Solomon admonishes us to “trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6, KJV).
