Crystal Clear

What are those big gray rocks you are holding?” Beth asked.
“They are geodes,” Sujatha replied. “Wow, they make me think of a human brain,” Beth exclaimed. “Geodes look like common rocks,” Sujatha explained.
They come in many sizes; some can be under one centimeter, and others can be several meters big. They are subspherical rocks that have a colorful inner-lined cavity.
From the outside, most geodes look ordinary, but when they are opened—their beauty is breathtaking. Inside, you will find crystals such as quartz, opal, blue silica, pink rhodochrosite, and white and gray agate.” Sujatha enthusiastically cut open the rock and revealed the inner lining. “Wow! I am surprised how beautiful it is on the inside!” Beth exclaimed.
Sujatha chuckled. “Just a minute ago, you weren’t impressed by these rocks because you could only see the outside, but once you saw the inside, you changed your opinion.” When Jesus lived on earth, He chose to spend time with unlovable sinners.
He ate with sinners (Luke 15:2), His friends were drunkards and tax collectors (Luke 7:34), He let a sinful woman anoint Him (verses 36–50), and He asked filthy fishermen to be His disciples (Matthew 4:19). He touched sick people covered in sores caused by leprosy (Matthew 8:3). Jesus “came to seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10).
He sees us for who we are, and He sees our potential as we make the right choices and turn our hearts to Him. Praise God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ looks at our hearts and not our outward appearances (1 Samuel 16:7).
So my sister geodes in Christ, though many may judge you by your outward appearance, though many will fail you, God’s eyes will never miss a single crystal.
No matter how we look on the outside, God can see what lies inside us with crystal clear clarity. His love for us will never fail.
He created us, He died for us, and soon He will return for us.
