Do Not Worry

Play/Pause Stop
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10, NKJV

I listened to the words sung by the children with their crystal-clear voices, and the message penetrated deep into my heart: be faithful until the Lord comes.

I watched the fifty or so kids from the camp sing their hearts out.

As I listened, they sang with youthful exuberance.

Deeply moved, I choked back my tears and sang along with them. My thoughts went up to God in heartfelt prayer: Lord, fulfill these words in their lives.

Help them to be faithful to the end. Life often charts a course different from the one we expect. Nothing is stable anymore. Our world is going through turmoil and is changing very quickly. The whirlwind of trouble and change makes us dizzy.

But we are not lost. All of these things show us that the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is now ever closer. Even though we may be experiencing trials, confusion, and restrictive legislation, by faith, we can look confidently ahead.

We can live boldly because we know that one day we will see the fulfillment of Jesus’ promised return. We will live in a place where pain cannot exist. . . . There will be no more tears, no funeral trains, no badges of mourning. . . . “For the former things are passed away.”. . . . . . From Him who created all, flow life and light and gladness.* If the burdens of life are weighing you down today, if the trials seem too great, look to Jesus and trust His promises. As the writer to the Hebrews so clearly reminds us, “Be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you’ ” (Hebrews 13:5, NIV).

So, do not worry. Be patient, “for yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry” (Hebrews 10:37, NKJV).
