Trust Him in All Things

Play/Pause Stop
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. —Romans 8:25, KJV

As I sat down to write, my thoughts were focused on the impossibility of the situation before me. My heart ached, my mind raced, and my emotions felt as though they were having the time of their lives at a trampoline event. To be honest, I had already decided to give up. As I read the love letter he had written so many years ago, I was jolted into the reality that I was depending on my own strength to make it through. The more I read, the more I saw my need for God. I needed to unite with Him and work through those stubborn feelings of hurt, disappointment, and anger, which would take time and therapy. I bowed my head in prayer, and in an agonized whisper, I cried out, “Lord, help me!” It was then that God reminded me in His great love letter, the Holy Bible, that He is all-powerful (Matthew 28:18, KJV).

He “will perfect that which concerns me” (Psalm 138:8, NKJV). He wants me to wait on Him (Micah 7:7) and asks me to trust Him in all things (Proverbs 3:5).

And finally, He will ensure that the trials of this life produce testimonies that draw others to him (1 Peter 4:12, 13). A ray of Sonshine peeked through the clouds of discouragement, and I saw a glimmer of hope. God’s love letter, in unity with the Holy Spirit, had done it again. It had lifted up Jesus and drawn me to Him. I thank God that He pursued me.

He reminded me so eloquently that He loves me, died to save my soul, and continues to advocate and provide for me. After spending time in His Word, I felt loved, treasured, and protected. I was persuaded that although I could not see how this particular situation would work out, I had to place it in God’s hands. Are you facing any situations that seem impossible, with no solution in sight? Please join me in prayer, and lay each impossible thing before the Lord. Though we may not see the way forward, God does. We can pour out our hearts to Him and allow Him to teach us how to wait on Him. “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10, KJV). Let us call out to our heavenly Father, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief” (Mark 9:24, KJV).
