Reflection on a Day’s Events

Play/Pause Stop
“And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place. . . . “. . . But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” —Matthew 24:6, 13, NLT

I woke up one winter morning, thinking it was another cold and cloudy day. Then I looked out the window. Awaiting my view was a beautiful gift from the Lord. Amid the dark clouds was a sliver of light—an incredible array of white, blue, and pink.

I said, “Thank You, Lord, for letting me know that despite the cloudiness, the sun is pursuing its course worldwide.” The beautiful hue of white, pink, and blue illuminated by the sun piercing through was a reminder of God’s promise to watch over His children, no matter the circumstances or the location. War is brewing in one country, and people in other parts of the world are concerned about the fallout on their way of life.

Thousands of Christians are caught up in the conflict, and our only recourse is to pray and plead with God to spare His children. As time passes, let us remember what the Bible told us about wars and rumors of wars. We need to realize that even if we are not personally suffering in that war, it could have been us. The Bible also tells us that the devil is starting all the conflicts because he knows that he has “but a short time” (Revelation 12:12, KJV).

We know that the Lord is in control, despite what we might wish to happen to those who instigate wars and evil deeds. We can be sure He will not let one hair of His children fall to the ground without His notice. While contemplating the fast approach of the Lord’s return, let us ask Him to help us trust in His infinite wisdom.

As we wait patiently, let us ask Him to strengthen our faith and give us the needed resolve while praising and thanking Him for the good and the bad.

This world is not our home, but the Lord sees fit that we live in it for a bit longer. He is the Master of the universe, and everything is under His control.

His prophecies are sure. Let us come confidently to His throne (see Hebrews 4:16), and intercede for one another while we await His return to take us to a better world where there will be no pain, death, wars, or rumors of wars. Come soon, Lord Jesus!
