Eve, the mother of us all, so royal, so complete in beauty, so perfect, was created by the hand of God for Adam. She was bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh—his helpmeet.
Then sin entered, complexity arose, things changed.
Eve yielded to temptation by discussing with Satan that which the Creator had already told her. “Eve really believed the words of Satan, but her belief did not save her from the penalty of sin. . . . In the judgment men will not be condemned because they conscientiously believed a lie, but because they did not believe the truth.” Today many women still stray from God’s Word, thinking that there is a better way or a better day, only to find out that Satan has used trickery, flattery, pride, and deception to gain entrance into their minds and thoughts.
Allowing Satan to gain entrance will always lead to actions that will unfit us for the kingdom of God. But thanks be to our all-loving Creator, the God of second chances, our God of restoration, we can repent and return to our Father.
You see, Eve was forgiven of her sin, but the consequences of her sin still needed to be faced. The result: Eve was removed from the Garden of Eden, and the first animal was slain, for blood must be shed for the remission of sin. Just as she looked forward to the promise of a Savior who would come to earth, we daughters of Eve, too, await His return.
Let us learn from the hard lessons of her life and live for God’s glory, accepting His Word and living up to the knowledge we have received.
Let us not be charmed by the tempter’s lies and flattery.
May we never miss an opportunity to glorify God’s name and worship Him in the beauty of holiness. Because of all Jesus has done for us, we can live a victorious life as we wait for His return. Let us look to that day when He will be seen bursting through the clouds, riding on that white horse, returning to claim all the children born of Eve who have chosen to follow and obey Him. What a day of rejoicing that will be! Be faithful, my sisters.
He will soon return!
