You Are So Beautiful!

I stood in line, waiting to meet a beautiful woman I had seen for the first time only moments before. When she had walked to the front of the stage, I was blown away by how gorgeous she was. Elegantly dressed, her long, gently wavy, slightly greying hair perfectly accentuated her lovely face and elegant figure. Her message was on the importance of praising God in difficult circumstances and in any situation.

I waited for what seemed to be an eternity.

I had something I felt impressed to tell her, though I felt silly for wanting to tell her what was on my heart. While I waited for several others ahead of me to finish their conversations with her, I felt tempted to leave the line. But even though I felt uncomfortable, something kept me firmly in place. At last, she was alone, and bravely I approached her and blurted out awkwardly, “You are so beautiful!” Feeling embarrassed, I managed to thank her for her testimony. I had no idea what would come from this conversation.

To my surprise, she said she knew me and had followed my life’s journey.

We discovered we were connected in many ways, and our conversation instantly became intimate and heartfelt. We were able to speak to each other’s lives by sharing our experiences as mothers, and we encouraged each other.

We committed to praying for each other, and I left our chat feeling empowered and very grateful I had listened to God’s voice prompting me to wait and meet this woman. I delight in the thought that she is praying for me, and I am praying for her.

I hope to see her again one day. Only three days after that experience, I chuckled at God’s sense of humor and the wonder of His ways. I received a book called I AM, which contains a series of reflective articles written by twenty-six women.

From their experience and the Bible, they share topics like I am brave, I am courageous, I am humble, I am loved. Unknown to us, both she and I contributed to the book. Can you guess the title of her topic? “I Am Beautiful”! And my topic? “I Am Empowered”! As you hear God’s voice prompting you to do or say something, obey Him and discover the amazing ways He will use you to bless others!
