Our heavenly Father has always been right on time! It might sound cliché, but I am here as evidence that God has always been punctual in my life.
Though He might not answer my request right when I call, He has never let me down. He responds just in the nick of time. In His perfect time—never a minute too soon or a second too late. Early in my husband’s military career, we moved from our tiny apartment into military housing. We were so excited as our new home was larger and would be more comfortable.
Right before the move, we realized how much there was to do and how much we needed. How would we manage financially? We decided to prioritize the essentials.
We needed blinds for the windows and a washer and dryer.
How we searched for them, hoping to find them on sale! But we soon realized that even on sale, these items were out of our budget.
We were resolute. We decided to find a way to do without until we could afford the purchase and pledged to save money and buy the items the following year.
For now, we would creatively dress the windows using bed sheets.
Using the laundromat was turned into a family outing where everyone pitched in to help. A few days later, a friend called to ask if we needed a washer and dryer.
She said her neighbors were throwing theirs into the trash because they had purchased new ones. Dumbfounded, with a knot in my throat, I did not know what to say.
With tears rolling down my face, I exclaimed, “Thank you! Thank you!” We now had our free washer and dryer—no more laundromats.
God had answered our prayers, in His way, in His time.
A day before moving, we went to a bargain store.
We did not have anything in mind.
As we walked down the window treatment aisle, we reminded ourselves we were on a strict budget. Turning to leave, we saw some vertical blinds—exactly the ones we needed—three times cheaper than any we had seen before.
The color even matched our furniture.
We were able to purchase the blinds and still stay on budget! Friends, God is always right on time! He has never proven me wrong.
