Does it seem like God is taking forever to answer your request? Faith connects us with heaven and brings us the strength to cope. We need faith that will hold on to the promises of God’s Word and refuse to let go until heaven hears.
Do you get weary of waiting on God? Just because He has not done it yet does not mean He will not yet do it. He invites us to wait and, while waiting, not to nag, complain, or grow weary. Worry less, talk less about the problem. Rather, spend time in prayer and have faith. Prayer does more for us than we could ever imagine. I remember when I faced a challenge, I waited for years but to no avail. Then, I realized I should talk less, worry less about the problem, and pray more. So I started to pray more. I decided to include fasting with my prayer—and God answered me when I least expected it. So here is the conclusion I have reached after that experience: be anxious for nothing; anxiety and worry slow down the answer to our prayers.
Lamenting, nagging, and questioning God may extend our waiting period while an open mind to the wondrous work of God, backed up with a strong faith in the One who loves you, will always produce an amazing outcome. The results can be so overwhelming, it is no wonder He said His thoughts and ways are different from ours (see Isaiah 55:9).
Yes, it is difficult to exercise living faith when we are in darkness and discouragement. But that is the very time we should exercise our faith.
God loves His children, and He longs to see them overcome discouragement. Hebrews 11 gives us several examples of people who exercised faith.
Having faith gives us trust that God will do it when it is time.
While waiting, spend more time studying the Word of God, claim His promises, pray more, give thanks to God, live as though God has done it, walk by faith, and rejoice always. Through faith, God’s children have “subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens” (Hebrews 11:33, 34, NKJV).
