God’s Promises

Be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” —Hebrews 13:5, NKJV “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10, NKJV

This testimony was shared with me by Minnie Goldwire: Praise the Lord, who promises: “I will never leave you or forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5, NKJV).

His promises have been fulfilled many times in my life.

In 1988, I was in the hospital because I could not walk, and I had severe pains shooting up my leg. I was given medication for the pain, but I had no relief.

The pains would last about fifteen seconds, then stop.

Many tests were performed, but the doctors could not find the cause. They finally gave up, figuring the pain was not real. At first, I became discouraged and felt hopeless. I prayed to my God, telling Him that the doctors had given up on me.

But He promised: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5, NKJV). I told God I could not take the pain any longer. I told Him I couldn’t go on like this, and I asked Him to help me. I had prayed this before, and I thought His answer would come through medication and hospitalization. But my help came from the Lord. I was finally able to sleep that night, and I had only one slight, mild pain episode after that day. I praise God for healing me.

Once the pain stopped, I was able to be rehabilitated to walk again. I serve a mighty God. He has never failed me, and He will never fail you. Always trust Him.
