The Teacup Miracle

Have you ever felt like your life is upside down? That you are walking through darkness? That you are so alone that you are afraid? That is exactly the way I was feeling. I was afraid of what could happen to me. I needed to be sure that God was by my side.

I prayed and asked Him to manifest His presence in my life, but I was not sure how He could do that. I love tea sets, but after a recent move, I was not able to find one of my favorite sets. I was disappointed, but I finally gave up searching.

One day, when I was feeling especially sad and distressed, I opened one of my moving boxes, and there was the tea set I had been looking for.

I was so happy to find it. I noticed, however, that this set had only three cups, and I needed four. I searched in the store where I had bought it and was told that pattern had been discontinued. A week later, a box arrived by mail. I had not placed any orders, and I did not recognize the name of the person on the return label. My husband opened the box—and what a great surprise! Inside was a teacup that perfectly completed my set! There was also a beautiful handmade card in which the sender thanked me for the way I had helped her in her life. God had chosen to show me His wonderful love and concern with a small gift that, for me, was a great miracle. God, who knows me well, had hidden something from me for a long time.

Something that would serve to strengthen me at the perfect time. Maybe today you are going through a difficult time in your life.

God is willing to show you that He is by your side.

He has not left you alone. He will find many ways to reveal His presence and His love for you. Perhaps you do not need a miracle to confirm God’s love, but the Lord uses many ways to make known His tender care. He says to us: “Do not fear, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10, NIV).
