Recently, I concluded that God is working through the various events that have transpired in my life and is weaving them together for my benefit.
During that reflection time, I wondered about failed applications, unanswered emails, missed phone calls, illness, and ill treatment. I was able to see possible reasons why God permitted some things to happen, and I was grateful, but there are still those situations that I am unable to fathom why God permitted to happen. When I look back at how God has changed many circumstances in my life, I am compelled to put all my trust in Him.
He knows both the beginning and the ending of everything.
So, my dear sister, you may be looking back on your life and wondering about a few things. You may be asking God about the husband you are hoping to find, the child you are longing to conceive, the degree or training you are dreaming of completing, or the home you are saving to buy, but you cannot seem to make sense of it all.
The challenge is that we may never understand all that transpires in our lives, but we can have the confidence that God is in the mix. This phenomenon challenged me the most when I was hospitalized some time ago. It was an extremely difficult time for me. When the incident occurred, I could not imagine a single possible reason why God had permitted me to be in the circumstances I was in. A few months after my release from the hospital, though, I saw God move in miraculous ways to change the entire trajectory of my life.
Even more importantly, I believe that God used that incident to preserve my life. No matter how difficult your circumstances, be confident that God has your best interests at heart and that He is working all things—yes, every good and seemingly not-so-good situation—for both your earthly and eternal benefit. So, when you look back, also remember to look up to God because He will see you through whatever circumstances you have to deal with.
