Last summer I was looking forward to traveling from the United States of America to the United States Virgin Islands, though I felt a little anxious because I would be gone for a few months. I was taking two of my grandchildren with me on vacation, and I had ordered a few things for them from Amazon to help keep them occupied during the long hours of traveling. The package was scheduled to arrive by 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
I checked outside the door several times in the afternoon to see whether the package was there, but it was nowhere to be seen. At 9:15, I checked my email and found a notification that the package had been delivered to my doorstep at 7:46 P.M. The usual photo showing the package was included in the email. I quickly went to see if it was there. Sadly, it was not. My heart sank because we were due to leave in only six days.
There would be no time to reorder. I wondered whether the package had been delivered to the incorrect apartment by accident. I went and looked by the doors upstairs and did not see it there either. I decided to go online and check with Amazon.
I was instructed to wait forty-eight hours before reporting the missing package. As someone who believes that God is concerned about every detail of our lives, I prayed about the matter and went to bed. The next morning I went to the door expectantly and was overjoyed to find my missing package! This experience reminded me of two things.
First, we must remember to pray about everything instead of worrying. Nothing that concerns us is too small or unimportant to bring to the Lord in prayer.
He loves to have us turn to Him with our joys and sorrows.
Second, God always hears and answers our prayers.
We sometimes stop praying too soon. Keep praying, and keep trusting. He is faithful. Dear Lord, thank You for Your promise that before we call, You will answer.
May we never forget that You always listen to us and love to work all things together for our good.
