Verse:Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. —Colossians 3:23, 24, NIV
I have the privilege of being surrounded by some amazing women. I am in awe as I watch what God is doing in my friends’ lives.
I am a relatively new entrepreneur.
When I felt called on this journey, I knew that there were women I could call on who had gone ahead of me. I’m not one who believes I need to do it on my own —I believe I can borrow someone’s template and tweak it and make it my own. As I reached out to each of these amazing women and listened to their stories, I was in awe as I heard how God had moved for them. One friend’s story struck a chord.
She had had some experiences that would be considered cringe-worthy. They had made her angry at the things that she had to do on her own.
She’d had to go some places that she couldn’t even fathom, but as part of her duty, she had to go. As I listened to her recount the story three years later, it was evident God had not wasted any of her experiences.
As I listened to her, my mind quickly put two and two together and saw how as she went through those cringe-worthy experiences, God was setting her up for her current role. Because of the grueling schedule she had been put through, she had mastered the art of being both creative and detailed, a necessary trait in her profession. As I sat with her recently and listened to her success, I beamed with joy for her. Why? Simply because if God can do it for her, He can do it for me too.
When my friends do well and are accomplishing their dreams, I am cheering on the front lines. I might even be one of the loudest cheerleaders because I know what it takes to realize the dream. And I also continue to be reminded, if God can do it for her, He can surely do it for me too. It keeps me both encouraged and joyful when my friends are in a season of abundance. Dear heavenly Father, thank You for the examples before us, even as we navigate uncharted territory. Please continue to prepare us in all the areas necessary so that when we get there, we will know what to do.
