Verse:And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” —John 1:46
Warren prayed before he got on the bus that would take him to his new job. “Lord, there must be someone on this bus that I can witness to.
Please show me who it is, and give me words to speak that will lead them to You.” Finding an open seat, he sat down, smiled at the woman sitting next to him, and said, “Good morning.” She didn’t respond and turned to face the window.
The next day, a similar thing happened.
Warren greeted the person he sat next to but was met with stony silence. “Lord,” he prayed, “that’s two people who probably are not the ones You want me to meet on this bus. Show me whom You want me to share Jesus with.” The next morning he sat next to a young man, said “Good morning,” and was met with a cheerful response. The young man smiled. “Good morning!” he replied.
They chatted along the bus route until Warren got off at his stop. “I’ll see you tomorrow morning,” the young man, Tony, said.
As they sat together over the following days and weeks, Warren prayed to know the right time to introduce Jesus into the conversation.
One morning, the opportunity presented itself.
“I watched a program on television last night about the universe, about the planets and stars,” Tony said. “It was incredible!” Warren asked a simple question. “Did you ever wonder who made it all?” Tony thought a moment. “Yes!” he said. “I have often wondered about that.” At that moment, a Bible study was born.
Warren and Tony frequently met to discuss the teachings of the Bible.
Tony even joined Warren and his family at their home for Christmas dinner. Tony studied his way into the truth of the Bible. Warren was careful not to run ahead of God but prayerfully followed where God was leading.
God is looking to His people to share Jesus with others.
Petitioning God for opportunities to share your faith will result in many divine appointments.
