He Hears

Adults · From the book The Hope Of Glory

Verse:

“The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” —John 14:26

Laura was desperate to make it to the shelter.

The young mother had lived what she described as “a rough life” and was in an extremely unhealthy relationship. Having fled her home, she was walking in the direction of the local shelter when a car pulled up beside her.

A kind lady named Yara asked Laura if she needed a ride, and as they drove, she felt impressed to offer Laura a place to stay.

She assured her she would be safe and could stay as long as she needed. Yara lived next door to the church she attended, which, at the time, was conducting an evangelistic series presented by the evangelist Eric Flickinger.

Laura attended the meetings with Yara and experienced the love of God, and for the first time she could remember, a sense of peace in her heart.

Before then, Laura had never studied the Bible, and the more she learned, the more she wanted to know. She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior, and before long, made the decision to be baptized. Her baptism took place several weeks after the series concluded. Laura was emphatic. “God has changed my life.” When Laura left her home that day, she did so in the hope of surviving. In addition to saving Laura’s life, the God of heaven extended to her the gift of eternal life.

God is constantly working to draw men and women, boys and girls, to His heart of love. Cheryl had been praying for her sister for twenty-five years. Wondering whether her prayers would ever be answered, she invited her sister to watch Hope Awakens, an online evangelistic series I presented in 2020.

Cheryl was ecstatic when her sister began watching the nightly presentations. She was overjoyed when her sister was baptized two months after the series concluded. God is at work in the experience of your loved ones.

The Holy Spirit impresses the hearts of those for whom you pray, appealing to them to open their hearts to Jesus and arranging circumstances to give them the best possible chance of accepting salvation.

Never stop praying for others.

God hears your prayers.
