Verse:Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. —Jeremiah 1:5, KJV
God formed you and knew you first—even before you were in the womb. To be in a relationship with someone, we need to spend time with them. To be in a relationship with God—or renew your relationship with Him—sometimes God needs to isolate you again and get you in a position to know Him. For a relationship to be birthed, God wants first to spend alone time with you. God’s not going to birth you into something without making sure that He knows you’re ready to be born into it. Do not rush or make hasty decisions prematurely—let God do His work in you. Learn to enjoy this growth process in the womb. Be like a child with Him. Learn from Him and seek His ways.
It takes nine months for a baby to develop in the womb before it can be born. Eventually, the time comes for that baby to be born. Likewise, the time will come for you to be fully the person God is crafting you to be.
If God is saying to you, “Be single in this season in your life,” then stay in the “womb” and stop kicking and fighting what God is doing in your life. Stop wrestling, be patient and silent, and ask God for guidance. Your time to be birthed into a relationship will happen if it’s in God’s will. While you were in your mother’s womb, you were never alone. During those prenatal months, when you didn’t know what was going on, the person who was carrying you did.
In this seasonal womb of singleness or isolation, God is giving you what you need. He is able to understand and see things you don’t see. He is still molding and creating you; He wants to feed you His Word and His love. He also wants to remove the unclean parts of your character. In His time, He wants you to experience a shared union and time of affection and care with the person He has for you—just like a baby spends time with its mother and father getting affection and feeling loved. While you’re in this seasonal womb, allow God to be first in your life. Allow Him to give you the affection and love He has for your needs. In due time, you will be ready to be “birthed” into the union of His will.
