Verse:The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. —Psalm 23:1, KJV
The Lord is my Shepherd. He formed me within my mother’s womb and took me in his arms as I was born. He chose me—to love me, protect me, and give me the opportunity of experiencing a relationship of fellowship, trust, and victory in Him. No other has a greater interest in my present and eternal well-being than Christ. That’s why I trust and depend solely on Him and His grace. I shall not want. He will supply all my needs according to His riches in glory.
He diligently searches for soft, green pastures where I find nourishment and refreshment for my soul. He leads me into situations that will cause me to reflect. He bids me rest from all worries, leading me where His Spirit can renew me.
He leads me beside still waters, that I may quench my thirst for His wisdom and the knowledge of His love. If worries, sadness, or troubles arise, He will comfort my soul and encourage me along the way.
My Shepherd knows my comings and goings. He knows my thoughts and is aware of my frailty. That’s why He’s always by my side. He promised to guide me in the path of righteousness, honoring His name. I know His character is love, and He proves that in the way He treats me day by day.
Even when I walk the valley of trials, temptation, and sorrows—even if I face death—I need not fear, for You are by my side. When others forsake me, You remain. You don’t condemn me when I falter. Instead, You invite me to turn my eyes upon You. Your commandments act as a staff, protecting me from evil, and Your rod returns me to the path of life.
My enemies stand in awe, as they notice Your faithful provision for me. You honor me before them by treating me as a child of the King. With the Holy Spirit, You anointed me as a sign that I belong to You. For this and countless blessings, my cup overflows with gratefulness!
Your mercy and grace shall follow me unendingly until I arrive in Your everlasting home, where I shall live eternally before Your holy presence. Let the Lord be your Shepherd today.
