Verse:We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory. … But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. —1 Corinthians 2:7–9, KJV
It is now summer and very hot in my part of the world.
I recently gave up the hair extensions that I wore as braids and cut my hair so that I could be cooler in the heat that I was expecting.
I mused, I wonder what temperature we will have in heaven.
Low seventies, maybe? This is not a busy time where I work, so I decided to search online for the people from where I grew up.
I was able to locate Aunt Florence, who still lives in the same house (for sixty-plus years) and is now ninety-six years old! Her voice, however, is that of a fifty-year-old, and so is her memory! She remembered me, even though I have not been home for at least sixteen years. She proceeded to tell me of everyone we know who has passed away. So many people to look for when we get to heaven! Our neighbor gave us a wonderful California king–size bed with a fantastic mattress.
We moved to a new apartment, and the bedroom can barely contain the bed. My husband tells me that the next time we move, we can buy a different bed and also get a larger bedroom. What will we lie on in heaven if there is no night (Revelation 21:25, KJV)? Will we ever lie down, or will we stand up all day? I recently confessed to a close friend that I am obsessed with shoes! I cannot stop buying shoes! In the past, I have ordered them online and picked them up when my husband is away so that he did not know that I had more shoes. What will we wear on our feet in heaven (Matthew 6:30, 31)? Will anyone ever step on my toes? I will have so many questions, people to see, places to go, plenty of good food to eat, things to do … But, according to God’s Word, my questions are not all that important. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33, NIV).
I want to see Jesus, don’t you?
