It’s a Miracle

If you are a pet lover and make pets a part of your family, you will enjoy this story! My husband, Ron, and I were driving back up our mountain following prayer meeting on a Wednesday evening. He was driving a pickup truck filled with a barrel train (children’s choo-choo train made from barrels) in preparation for a fall party the following Saturday night. Following him in our van, I noticed a yellow cat on the road. Later at home, I said to Ron, “I’m so glad you didn’t hit that cat on the road.” “I didn’t see any cat,” he replied. The next day Ron asked whether I’d seen our yellow cat, Cal (short for Miracle), around. As we talked together, we realized that the cat I had seen on the road was most certainly our very own Cal, who had jumped out of the pickup! Cal must have been sleeping on one of the cushions in one of the barrels.

He had ridden all the way to prayer meeting and halfway back home! Now we were sad and began to pray not only that Cal was safe but that he would also find his way back home. Several weeks passed. Our granddaughter, Savannah, was sad too. She posted a little video of Cal on social media. The next day she received a message from a schoolmate, saying, “I think your cat is at our house.” Savannah’s friend lived eight miles away from us! Later that day, Ron got a call from the family of the schoolmate, and they brought Cal back home! When I came home later that evening, Cal was on Ron’s lap, purring loudly. I was happily surprised and so thankful! Cal had come to live with us five years earlier. Soon after he had arrived, he got out of the garage, and our dog caught and shook him! We were afraid he might die.

We wrapped him up and put him in a box overnight.

By morning, he had revived from his traumatic experience.

Savannah said, “It’s a miracle!” Then she asked, “Can we call him Miracle?” As we enjoy having Cal with us again, we realize we have just experienced another miracle with our cat. In His Word, God invites us to call upon Him especially in our times of perplexity, loss, and sadness. He will lift our burdens.
