“Before They Call, I Will Answer”

Women · From the book Covered And Carried

Verse:

“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”—Isaiah 65:24, NIV

At the beginning of the year 2020, many of my family and friends were getting sick with the flu. Sure enough, my five-year-old grandson, Maxwell, also caught it at school. My daughter called me on Sunday evening and asked me to take care of Max, so I took off from work that Monday and Tuesday and stayed home to take care of him. To keep from catching the flu, I started to take some natural flu and cold capsules, which an office friend had gotten for me from Australia. In one box of this medicine, there are two sheets of day capsules and one sheet of night capsules.

I was happy that I had some capsules left to take.

Within a week, I had used up all the day capsules.

Since I used up the daytime capsules and had only three nighttime capsules left, I went ahead and took a nighttime capsule.

But that made me feel a little sleepy at work. (I’m sure the nighttime capsules have some ingredients to enhance sleep at night.) I had asked my friend to get me more of these capsules, and he was kind enough to give me a supply the very next day. On Friday morning, January 24, 2020, I opened a new box of capsules and took one. I decided to keep the rest of the sheet of capsules in the old box with the leftover night capsules. To my utter amazement, when I opened the old box to put my new sheet of capsules inside, I saw a full sheet of the day capsules. I clearly remember using up all the daytime capsules and even throwing away the used-up sheet.

I was shocked to find a full sheet of day capsules.

In fact, when I was opening the new box of capsules, I was thanking God for supplying me with more of those capsules. But how did a full sheet of the day capsules get inside the old box? I will never know. All I can say is that I regarded this find as a miracle. My loving God wanted to supply my needs. Another great blessing from my wonderful heavenly Father was that I did not contract the flu from my grandson, even though I took care of him for two days! What a merciful and gracious God we have, who knows and cares for our every need in life! I praise and thank Him for His marvelous love and grace toward each one of us!
