Verse:“It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear.” —Isaiah 65:24, NKJV
I believe in miracles because I’ve seen God perform countless miracles for my family and me when circumstances seemed utterly impossible.
Recently, He did it again for my husband and me in two different situations on the same day. Since our retirement, my husband and I travel together frequently. Over the years, we have learned that as we grow older, our bodies aren’t as agile as they once were, so when we make flight reservations, we allow enough time between our arrival and departure to avoid the stress of having to rush.
Recently, a situation arose where my husband had to travel alone. I didn’t realize until it was too late that he had allowed only forty minutes between the time his plane landed and the departure of his next flight. Immediately, I began to express my concern. “What if the plane arrives late or the departure gate is far away, and he misses his connecting flight?” The morning of his departure, he called to say that he was on his way to the airport. Again, I expressed my concern. He doesn’t like to carry a cell phone, so when I suggested that he borrow someone’s cell phone at the airport to inform me if he had made it on time, he calmly said, “Don’t worry about it; it will all work out OK.” I continued praying that the Lord would help him make his connecting flight.
Later, a notice appeared on my cell phone from the airlines that the flight would depart nineteen minutes late. I shouted, “Thank You, Jesus!” That morning I was scheduled to speak on the Morning Manna Prayerline and was concerned because my voice had succumbed to allergies. I could speak only in a whisper and cried out to God, “Father, I must speak shortly and can hardly talk. Please help me.” Isaiah 65:24 tells us that “before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear” (NKJV). God heard my prayer, and when the time came for me to speak, my voice had improved. He blessed far beyond my expectations. Yes, I believe in miracles.
God answered our prayers, and we’re profoundly grateful.
He’s still in the miracle-working business.
Call upon Him; tell Him all about your problems.
He will listen and work out everything for your good, even when the circumstances seem impossible.
