Where Are My Glasses?

I was in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and my scheduled departure for home was February 6, 2020. Since I was flying out of Fort Lauderdale to Edmonton, Canada, with a layover in Montreal, I decided to stay overnight with my cousin in West Palm Beach. The following day I packed my belongings and rechecked the room before heading to the airport. When I travel, I usually have one pair of glasses in my purse, which I tuck into my backpack. I keep the other pair in the pouch that I wear for easy access.

The flight was late, so I missed my connection.

A flight attendant met me at the gate with hotel and food vouchers. Then she helped me collect my bag and took me to the hotel shuttle.

I took the return shuttle to the airport at 6:00 a.m. after checking the hotel room to ensure I had not left anything behind. I had time to spare, so I ate breakfast and read my daily devotions. I finally returned home safely, albeit a day later than originally planned. At home, I unpacked my suitcase and backpack and emptied my travel purse. Wait! Where is my new pair of glasses? I retrieved the suitcase and backpack and checked all the pockets. Nothing! I called my cousins to see whether I had left my eyeglasses in the room, but they were not there. I knew I had not used them in Montreal, so where could they be? I began to pray frantically because I need those particular glasses. On Sunday, I told my family that I could not find my glasses.

I racked my brain, which only gave me a headache.

Then I had a thought: “Be still and know that I am God.” I focused on other things and went to bed. Early on Monday morning, I heard a voice saying, Check your sunglasses case. I sat up, jumped out of bed, and grabbed the case from the dresser. There were the missing glasses! Is there anything too hard for God? He will seek and find you too. Hallelujah!
