Bearing Patiently

Women · From the book New Every Morning

Verse:

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. —James 1:2–4, KJV

The road of troubles and difficulties comes in many forms and has numerous twists and turns. We sometimes do not identify with and see our circumstances as troubles and difficulties, and at other times, we cannot focus on or deal with them how we ought to. We often go through trials feeling alone, without the physical help and emotional support we need and crave. It does not matter the circumstances that affect us; it is how we deal with those circumstances and relate to others while going through them that will help us overcome victoriously. It is also encouraging and comforting to have the support of family, friends, and church brethren during and after difficult times so that we can grow above the circumstances that prevail against us.

The Word of God admonishes us to bear patiently, live in hope, and wait for our deliverance and blessings (see Ephesians 4:2, James 5:8, Philippians 4:6, and Romans 12:12). If, over time, we overcome by God’s will, we will be able to tell our story to strengthen others and go on living more fulfilled and happier lives in Jesus.

Sisters in Christ, Jesus is our only hope in times of difficulty.

Let us remain focused and bear patiently because He who promised will surely come and save us. The Word of God always prevails no matter how long it takes, and we overcome through Jesus Christ. Our personality and character will make each of us shine like one who is molded by God’s hands, and others will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior because of His beauty shining in and through us.

So let us be patient in tribulation each day and allow the Lord to lead the way; we may be surprised by the outcome. I pray that our heavenly Father will help us trust Him in trying circumstances as we grow from day to day, allowing the Lord to work out His purpose in our lives.
