Verse:I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD. —Psalm 118:17, KJV
In my despair, it seemed as if the Lord was nowhere to be found.
I was overwhelmed with grief.
Clouds of disappointment and discouragement enveloped me. To accuse God of abandonment was not an option, for He had delivered me numerous times from what appeared to be the impossible.
Abraham and Sarah frequently come to mind.
They prayed in desperation for a child, and God promised to bless them with a child. He kept His promise, but while they were waiting, their faith wavered.
They felt the wait was too long, ran ahead of God, and attempted to fix it themselves. This caused mass confusion. When we run ahead of God, we always find ourselves in trouble. Are you waiting for an answer to a situation that you’ve been praying over for what seems like forever? Does it seem as if God has reneged on His word? He promised never to leave us. He also said, “Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear” (Isaiah 65:24, KJV). Does it seem as if He has turned a deaf ear? Have you fasted as well as prayed, and you’re still waiting for the yoke to be broken? Don’t run ahead of God. Utilize your faith and put your trust in God.
He says He knows the thoughts He has toward us, “thoughts of peace and not of evil,” to give us “an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11, KJV).
Satan is doing everything he can to get us to turn our backs on God. But God does things in His own time, and His time frame is not the same as ours.
We must have the mindset of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3:17, 18). I am claiming 2 Corinthians 6:2, “For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (KJV).
Regardless of how much time He takes or what decision He makes, I know He has my best interest at heart, and I am going to praise Him anyway! Claim His promises and praise Him anyway.
