Verse:“For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle upon a thousand hills.” —Psalm 50:10, NKJV “I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.”—Isaiah 42:8, NKJV
I can’t give all that to one person; certainly, You know that there is someone else I need to help. God, You can’t be serious.
Why should I add more to the amount?” In response to my question, God asked me a question: “Will you do as I say?” Still a little confused yet resting in the fact that God has always been faithful, I proceeded to give as God had instructed.
Sometime later at a prayer-and-fasting session, the person I had gifted shared a wonderful testimony of God’s faithfulness.
She shared that she was in need of funds to pay an outstanding debt, and God had sent her the exact amount —not only to pay her debt but to faithfully return her tithe and offering! Tears came to my eyes. Who but God? It was one of those “stand still and see” moments. At that moment, I immediately realized that the “extra” was so she could faithfully return to God what He commanded. She was blessed, but I was immensely blessed by this experience! What if I had not listened to Him? Sure enough, God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and would have provided for His child, but I would not have been gifted such an invaluable lesson in giving, obedience, and trust.
Sometimes God may ask us to do things that seem irrational, unreasonable, or even sometimes downright impossible, but He owns and knows it all. He will work it out to bring glory and honor to His name.
