God Is My Helper —Part 2

The Sabbath came that I was to sing.

I looked forward to sharing my testimony song, “Follow Me”! A storm was brewing as the service began. Soon we could see lightning flash and hear loud claps of thunder. I began praying that this storm would not be happening when I was singing and drown out the words! As I walked up to the pulpit, there was one more loud clap of thunder! The introduction was played, and I began to sing my special song. I was blessed to be able to share it with my church family.

Following the service, I was talking with a friend, Scott Clarke, who was taking care of the sound system as I was singing. He asked me if I realized that the pulpit microphone was not working during the service. I told him I was oblivious.

Then, I recalled being handed a handheld microphone to sing with and that those on the platform were also using handheld microphones because the pulpit microphone was not working. Then Scott shared the rest of the story, “All during the service, I couldn’t get the pulpit microphone to work.

So I made sure that two handheld mics were working.

When you stepped up to the pulpit, there was a loud clap of thunder —then you began to sing, and the microphone began working!” Wow! What a miracle for God to do! I was blessed because there was no confusion up front and no distraction for the congregation. Praise the Lord for His loving-kindness!
