Waiting on the Lord

Women · From the book New Every Morning

Verse:

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. —Psalm 27:14, NIV

Several years ago, I participated in a devotional program at church.

The program consisted of forty days of prayer and reading the Bible very early in the morning. At the time, I was studying chemical engineering in Peru.

My goal was to work as an engineer and have my own business; however, reading the Bible and learning more about Jesus changed everything.

My heart was very impressed. I told God, “I want to serve You.” I decided to ask for God’s direction, so I prayed for two years. One day, I cried out to God in prayer, “What is Your plan for my life?” Sometimes we look for many answers in our life, but if we wait on the Lord, He will lead us and provide for our needs in His time.

He will show us a way when sometimes we do not see anything.

I can tell you how wonderful our God is! At the time, I was doing missionary work. During my devotional, I found an answer in the Bible.

I read the story in Luke 5:1–10 about when Jesus called His disciples. I felt that this is my opportunity to follow Jesus with all my life.

I decided to study theology and serve God as a missionary.

After four years, I graduated as a chemical engineer.

I studied theology from 2014 to 2018 at the Peruvian Adventist University. Now I am studying for a master’s degree in geology because I want to do geochemistry research. At the same time, I want to preach about the message of God’s creation and spread the three angels’ messages (Revelation 14:6–12).

Dear friend, I am sure God has a special plan for you! He will reveal it to you as you pray, study the Bible, and ask Him for direction.

“Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done” (Psalm 40:5, NIV).

Depend on God with all your heart!
