Nothing Is Impossible

Women · From the book New Every Morning

Verse:

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” —Luke 1:37, NASB

This is Monday morning, Lord! You’ve reached my heart today through Your Word. As I ponder how God’s miracles work with the women and men of the Bible, I stand in wonder and awe again how Your timing is so pertinent —so always on time! I am reminded of the story in Luke about Elizabeth becoming pregnant at a very old age —a humanly impossible thing and yet the timing was perfect.

You respected her as she honored You in life. Then You not only did the impossible for a very old woman but also went to a virgin, Mary (at a very young age), and the Holy Spirit impregnated her—unheard of! You work with impossible situations! That is where You shine! Lord, teach me how to bring those impossible circumstances to You and wait on You while you bring a God-solution to the messy spiritual lives with whom I come in contact and as I walk beside my people with love, care, and concern.

Teach me to bring these God-growing situations to You sooner and receive the peace that passes all understanding. I pray that You will never give up on me as in my daily life I slip into being a human fixer instead of leaning on and learning from You. Keep distractions away from my life today. I must stay focused on You.

We wander, we have our own agendas, and we suffer from self-gratification in ways that keep us from being God-centered and God-filled.

I need to allow You to push me out of my way because I’m too selfish to know how. It is in the valleys and the crises of life that we see You in Your glory at work —yet it is in the mundane where You are doing Your grunt work in my own spiritual, ordinary life. Prepare my heart, O Lord. Prepare my mind, my soul, my thoughts, my desires to be constantly in the center of Your will. It feels impossible to even do this, yet You promised that without You, I can do nothing. Keep that in the forefront of my mind, dear Lord. Your Word is a precious reminder that with You all things are possible! That is Your promise for me today. Hold on to me for dear life, in Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.
