Verse:“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” —Matthew 25:23, NIV
We had just enjoyed a beautiful day of fellowship.
Women had traveled from across England to attend a day of empowerment. As usual, when presenting on the topic of purpose or anything relating to purpose, we first dealt with and debunked any misconceptions that would hinder women from recognizing they had each been created with a divine purpose in mind.
After presenting the topic of purpose, we had a question-and-answer session. One lady began, “Dr. Nadine, I hear you speaking about this purpose thing. I somewhat believe that God brought us into the world to accomplish something great. I have a hard time understanding; is that a hobby or a passion but not something I can do as a full-time career?” I was excited because I had heard that question so many times from women around the world, whether in person or virtually. Women often struggle, sometimes unconsciously, with believing they were created to support the dreams of others when, in fact, God has brought them into the world to do something significant—something that matters. Many who know that God has called them to something greater than what they are currently doing still have internal conflicts because His call does not align with their ideas or it falls completely outside their comfort zone.
The solution to many of the world’s problems may be in your hands, but too many of us have been told that our place is in our home; our voice should be silenced; and our ideas, kept to ourselves. God, however, wants us to know that we are not here by chance! We are not an afterthought. We are not a mistake, and the thing we are meant to do is essential because our purpose matters. And if you have already rid yourself of these false beliefs, ask yourself what it is that hinders you from advancing in the work God has called you to do.
As daughters of the Most High God, we can all look forward to hearing the words “Well done, My daughter! You have been faithful. Enter into the joy of your Lord” (see Matthew 25:23).
