Have You Made Your Reservation?

Women · From the book Color my world with love

Verse:

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. — John 14:3, KJV

Every year all of our family members who anticipate attending our family reunion must make hotel reservations within a certain period of time . Reservations are usually made months in advance , and a certain number of rooms are reserved for an estimated number of guests . A special room is reserved for the meetings as well . As time draws near to the date of this grand occasion , my adrenaline level increases , and I become overwhelmed with excitement . The big question is , Guess who’s coming to the reunion ?

Among the attendees are relatives that I’ve kept in touch with during the year . On the other hand , there are those with whom I’ve not communicated for almost a decade . And , of course , there are always some that I’m meeting for the first time . We meet and greet one another on the evening of our arrival . This is very interesting because you don’t know who you’re going to see .

Once we’ve become acquainted with one another , we look forward to attending a well - planned picnic the following day . There is generally at least one activity that everyone can take part in . We go on tours , play games , take short cruises , take pictures , and reminisce about old times while enjoying the food provided for us .

After the picnic , we return to the hotel to wind down . I proceed to take a nap before I shower and prepare for the banquet . There is usually a fashion show and a talent show during the banquet . The entertainment is phenomenal . We don’t know who is going to do what until the night of the occasion . You would be amazed at the hidden talent your family members possess . The banquet is the highlight of the reunion. Everyone generally participates in the program , including the children . We end our stay with family worship .

There is much to thank God for. Yes, we may lose a family member during the year , but we have the hope of being reunited with our loved ones upon Jesus ’ return . God has scheduled a greater reunion for us , and everyone is invited . Lodging is available and was paid for at Calvary. Have you made your reservation? Call today. I hope to see you there.
