“Commit Thy Way Unto the Lord”

Women · From the book Covered And Carried

Verse:

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. —Psalm 118:17, KJV

Jesus came to Earth as a man and lived a sinless life.

His life is an example for us to follow.

He taught that when we confess our sins, repent of our sins, and ask God for forgiveness, we are awarded a right to the tree of life.

Satan is a liar, thief, and murderer.

He constantly throws stumbling blocks in our path. He uses any means to distract us from reaching our heavenly goal, including envy, jealousy, hurt, hatred, discouragement, guilt, disappointment, and oppression, to mention a few.

These are diseases that cannot be cured by a medical regimen, hydrotherapy, physical or psychological therapy, surgery, or some special diet.

They originated from sin and can be cured only through the blood of Jesus. The great controversy began in heaven and continues until this very moment.

The adversary is determined to lure God’s children as far away from Him as he possibly can. He enjoys playing mind games. Once he has clouded your mind with any of the diseases previously mentioned, he feels confident he has won your vote! We must remember we are wrestling not with “flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world” in high places (Ephesians 6:12, KJV). We must exercise our faith and trust in God, for He is able to deliver us, and He is the only one who can. Sometimes we feel as if Satan has attacked us from every angle. We cannot allow our emotions to take control.

Although we may be perplexed, we must not despair.

God has promised not to leave us even when we are being persecuted. When we are cast down, remember Isaiah 41:10. The Lord promises to strengthen us, help us, and uphold us with the right hand of His righteousness.

The Lord will fight for us, and we will stay in perfect peace as long as we keep our minds on Him and trust in Him (see Isaiah 26:3).

Victory is ours through Christ. All we have to do is claim it. Christ speaks to us today in John 16:33: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace” (KJV). Aren’t these words comforting? He continues, “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” If Jesus has the whole world in His hand and He has overcome the world, why should we worry? Lean on Psalm 37:5: “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (KJV). God is willing, and He is able.
