God Can Still Be Trusted

Women · From the book New Every Morning

Verse:

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. —Isaiah 65:24, KJV

I am convinced that God can be trusted, and I will continue trusting in Him until I die. We are all aware of the type of year 2020 was.

Difficult. Lots of changes, adjustments, and the like.

But through it all, our God has been good. On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, I used the last egg from the box and said (more or less to myself), “Lord, this is the last egg, and You will have to help me find money to buy more.” Less than half an hour after making that statement, I looked through the window and saw a car parked in front of my house. I did not hear a horn or hear when the car pulled up. I told my son, “Go and see if that person is here for us.” In a few minutes, he returned with a smile and a box with a dozen eggs in his hand, saying, “The neighbor brought this and said, ‘they are on the house.’” I shouted, “Thank You, Lord!” My son did not understand why I thanked God for the eggs, so I explained to him how I had used the last egg and told God He would need to provide more. Afterward, I prayed, “God, You said my bread and water is sure, and now you have sent eggs also; thank You for looking out for me.” God continues to provide the eggs. As of writing this (in February 2021), the eggs are still coming and are always “on the house.” They have become a regular reminder of a God who cares, who hears, and who provides.

Immediately, today’s text came to mind, and I was reassured that the eggs were on the way before I called. God had already known my need and provided before I had even asked. I want to reassure you today that God loves you and desires your good. If that was not so, why did He take time to number the hairs on our heads? Let us trust Him even though we don’t understand all that is happening around us.

Call on Him today, and trust Him to take care of your situation.

No matter how big or small your need, God cares.
