Lady, Your Angel Was with You

Women · From the book New Every Morning

Verse:

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. —Psalm 91:11, 12, KJV

I had just come off the Interstate-95 highway ten minutes earlier and was overjoyed that I had done so safely.

After all, it was my first time driving on the busy roadway during my first year in the United States. I was less than five minutes from home when I heard a deafening explosive sound! My small Toyota Corolla was out of control and heading for the median.

There was nothing I could do to change its course. “Jesus, help me!” I cried as the car headed over the median for the second time.

Suddenly an Unseen Driver was at the control, and the car stopped in the turning lane, just where I needed to make the last right turn toward home.

I grabbed my handbag and jumped out, fearing a fiery explosion was imminent. It had barely come to a complete stop. A bright pink fuel was flowing from under the front part of the car. My right front tire had blown out.

Thank God it happened on the quieter Miramar Parkway and not the busy I-95! The first to arrive on the scene was a kind cop. “Lady, your angel was with you!” he exclaimed. “I saw the whole ordeal,” he continued. “I have never seen the parkway clear in both directions at this time of the day.” “God cleared the eastand westbound traffic,” I assured him. The kind cop called my husband, who was at church only fifteen minutes away.

He soon arrived with the mechanic.

He had our other car —a rental we had picked up at the Miami International Airport. God’s promise of protection had been proven true again.

He had given His angels charge over me, and they had kept my feet from dashing against the stone! You can claim that promise as you drive or go out today.

His angels have your feet and back! Praise God!! He will protect you over and over again! Trust me; He will!
