Verse:And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. —Isaiah 65:24, KJV
I never thought I would be a caregiver but found myself taking care of my brother-in-law, who suffered a devastating stroke in 2015.
He was bedridden and partially paralyzed on the left side.
He also had to be fed through a tube.
In our home, my husband and I took care of all his needs with assistance from family and friends. Being caregivers consumed a lot of our time, but I was OK with doing the daily tasks of bathing and feeding him. He was content but not happy because he desired to live with his daughter and grandchildren in his birth country.
Being there would be psychologically better for him, as would the year-round warmer environment, so his daughter had a room added to her house for him.
We just needed to transport him by plane to get there.
The problem was that because he was bedridden, we had to ship an adjustable hospital bed to his daughter, and we couldn’t use the one he was currently lying on. We had already exhausted a lot of money for the trip and other needs, and hospital beds in his home country were expensive. Therefore, we decided to find one here in the United States and ship it to her. I prayed about it and solicited prayers from others.
The time frame also was limited.
We needed to ship the bed a month before we traveled. That same week at church, I was eating lunch when our first elder came and told me a lady at the next table was asking if anyone needed a hospital bed. I couldn’t believe it! I jumped up and was quickly introduced to her. This wonderful woman had been taking care of her sister, who had died earlier that year. She was moving to Florida and wanted to donate the bed to someone. We arranged to pick up the bed and shipped it to my brother-in-law’s daughter. I was so overjoyed at how God took care of this situation.
I was deeply moved by how He provided for such a specific need as an adjustable hospital bed. God knows our desires and will supply all our needs according to His will. We just need to have faith and trust Him.
Why don’t you ask Him for your specific need today?
