Verse:But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God has prepared for them that love him. —1 Corinthians 2:9, KJV
Monday, December 27, 2020, was a cold morning.
I got out of bed, walked over to the windows, pulled back the curtains, and was greeted by a most spectacular display of beauty.
I saw the golden sun shining brightly on the land and trees and even bouncing some rays of warmth on the windowpane.
I touched the window and felt the warmth despite the cold temperature on the outside. I looked up and saw a most beautiful blue sky garnished with puffs of silky white clouds, interspersed with larger patches moving ever so slightly across the sky.
The large pine trees in the neighbor’s yard provided a good backdrop for the panorama. It seemed as if God the Creator were smiling at me and saying, “I made this for you to enjoy.” I took a deep breath and exclaimed, “Thank You, Lord, for creating all these things for me to enjoy.” My mind then drifted back to God’s original and perfect creation. Even though His creation has been marred by the ravages of sin for over six thousand years, there is still so much beauty all around.
As I contemplated what I had just experienced, I envisioned heaven and all the beautiful things that await me there. Eden will be restored.
This will be my eternal home. It will be a place of perpetual beauty. All of God’s children will reside there in peace and love.
Mrs. A. S. Bridgewater captures the scene in the song “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be”:* We read of a place that’s called heaven, It’s made for the pure and the free; These truths in God’s words He hath given, How beautiful heaven must be.
It is my prayer, dear sisters, that we all will be there. I look forward to seeing you.
