Another Morning Is Coming

Women · From the book He Knows My Name

Verse:

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. —John 14:1–3, KJV

Christmas is coming, and the stores sure let you know it is on its way! Even before Thanksgiving, the signs that Christmas is coming can be found everywhere.

This time of year is exciting for children.

They look forward to Christmas morning all year long.

They are expectant, looking forward to all the fun, family, food—and the gifts! Each year, the children write out their lists and give them to me. (Sorry, no Santa in our home.) And this is where the fun begins for me. I want everything to be perfect on Christmas morning.

The closer the day comes, the more excited I get.

With each delivery from UPS and FedEx, the excitement grows.

Then, I get to wrap all my special finds and surprises.

With all the festive paper, ribbons, and bows, the packages look beautiful. As we get closer to the day, the gifts are shaken, rattled, and rolled around.

I prepare all the favorite treats. The house looks festive and ready for the celebration. I think I am more excited about Christmas morning than the children! I can hardly wait to see their faces as they open the gifts I have prepared for them.

My friends, there is another exciting morning that is coming soon.

God promised us in His Word that when He went away to heaven, He would be making all things ready for that morning. He is preparing gifts for us.

He is making mansions for all His children.

He knows the hearts of His children—knows exactly what will bring us joy. And while He gives us gifts all the time, these gifts are special.

Everyone will receive a white stone with a new name.

There is a harp and a crown. And every crown will be beautifully jeweled. There are the mansions He has prepared for all the redeemed. God can hardly wait for us to get there so we can receive the gifts He has for us. Are you excited for that great morning when we get to see God face-to-face, when we will see the best gift of all, Jesus Christ, our Elder Brother? I cannot wait to see what God has for His children. Let us all plan to be there!
